African Tamarind

Creating a food truck brand that tells as story.

AFRICAN TAMARIND FOOD TRUCK BRAND IDENTITY

How can you put your essence into a truck without it becoming overly ethnic? Lets find out.

Details.

Objective - The aim was to design and brand a food truck logo and make it a concept that did not just serve one type of food. It needed to have meaning and consider the city and place it would be in and the people that would want to come to eat at it. Also, the idea was to reflect the owners without closing off anyone culturally.

Approach - The idea was to take the name and turn it into a talking point, and not make the budding franchise feel too ethnic and that it was only serving ethnic food. So the approach was to strip it down and make the van modern and clean with an outside patio vibe. When people ask what is African Tamarind, they can have a conversation about what it is where it came from.

Results -A modern food truck design with packaging that is still culturally relevant and sparks conversation.
